Our Philosophy

The real oasis of
peace & tranquility.

The most secluded and nature-integrated resort of Inle Lake. An alliance of Myanmar Shan Tradition design with modern fixtures and absolute comfort.

Portrait representing Shan Heritage

A Passion for Heritage.

Founded in 2003, Inle Resort & Spa was created by U Hla Aung, an entrepreneur who grew up in Shan State with a deep passion for his heritage and hospitality. The resort is a true reflection of his vision—blending nature and landscape into lush, handmade gardens designed with profound respect for local plants and trees.

Beyond hospitality, U Hla Aung and his family are dedicated to uplifting the local community. They have established schools and charitable initiatives aimed at fostering education and improving overall well-being.

His commitment to business and social responsibility has made a lasting impact in the region, earning him recognition as one of the highest taxpayers in Shan State and creating vital local employment opportunities.

All of our construction work and materials are sourced locally, dramatically minimizing our carbon footprint and reducing our environmental impact on the delicate ecosystem of Inle Lake.

Our eco-conscious initiatives include rain showers in every room, energy-efficient LED lighting, meticulous waste segregation, and the complete avoidance of chemical fertilizers in our gardens. Here, our guests experience the raw beauty of nature while actively contributing to a sustainable future.
